In 2022, Fertri carried out this extensive 86,000 m² macro-tunnel complex in North Africa, a region that in recent years has experienced remarkable development in export-oriented protected agriculture. The 8-metre-wide macro-tunnels, with a galvanised steel arch structure and three-layer plastic film cover, offer a cost-effective and rapidly implemented solution for long-cycle crops.
This typology is especially suitable for the climate conditions of the southern Mediterranean, where extreme summer temperatures require wide side ventilation and protection against desert winds demands a solid, well-anchored structure.
The project was fully designed, manufactured and assembled by Fertri, with materials shipped from A Coruña and a technical team deployed for the complete turnkey installation.
